Nuit Blanche

I attended the 5th annual Nuit Blanche in Toronto on Saturday evening and it was a cold and windy night for all 1 million plus people who attended the event.  For those of you who have yet to hear about this event it is an All night art show all throughout Toronto's downtown core. This was my second year attending this showing and was slightly disappointed by the art this year. There was so much to do with over 150 exhibits but the exhibits fell short of interesting, with just plain rooms to a dark hallway with nothing in it, I was left dissatisfied and unimpressed. On the upper note Daniel Lanois's stage and music at city hall was very impressive, with his own  music, live bands and dancers, Mr. Lanois put on quite the show for everybody to enjoy.

Today I started my Sense of Belonging  on Barbers/Hairdressers,  I considered shooting portraits for this but felt that it might work better shooting it candid. I visited the one and only Fantastic Greg on North Front Street, where I was greeted with a friendly smile and a couple of jokes, which easily put me in a comfortable position to shoot. Greg and his costumers jokingly talked about the Mayor and the Police chief  of Belleville and chatted about who they would like to see take over as Mayor of the city in the up coming election. I feel it turned out good in the end Candid or Portrait I think I can show why I chose this for my Sense of Belonging.

Shot soccer this evening and came to the realization that soccer is not the easiest sport to shoot after dark, you get stuck with high ISO and a slow shutter speed which leaves you with pretty much nothing to work with. During the game I was hoping to catch a goal or two and possibly some tackles, but these two shots were the best I could come up with tonight. As you can see in the first shot there isn't much in focus and I put that up as an example to anyone shooting soccer especially for only the second time, do it in the day first.
